Print, document production and management solutions for Commercial Businesses

Commercial businesses are the engine to drive the economy back to recovery. If a double-dip is avoided, then 2 million jobs will be created over the life of the next parliament

Commercial Businesses are now just starting to slowly emerge from the worst recession in living memory, and yet there is still the threat of a 'double-dip' downturn in the economy. Commercial organisations are continually reviewing their cost lines in order to remain competitive.

All too often, cost cutting leads inexorably to reductions in staff headcount numbers. Wyse Solutions has demonstrated that there may be alternative means by which to yield targeted cost reductions without an inevitable reduction in headcount or overall effectiveness. The commercial sector spends circa £12bn on print and copying annually. Simply looking at the VAT implications of your print and document production spend can prove to be an effective route to reduced costs.

As experts in the field of printing and document production, Wyse Solutions can help commercial businesses reduce their overall costs by many percentage points. Our auditing service is a great starting point as we deal with issues such as outsourcing versus in-house solutions on a daily basis. We are in the unique position to assist with many organisations' document production requirements, consistently delivering value for money and improved service provision.

FINANCIAL SERVICES COMPANY

An international insurance company took over one of the largest insurance companies in the UK. As the company had grown through acquisition, it started a project to make direct savings by integrating and consolidating output management. Wyse was engaged by the parent company's professional advisors on outsourcing the print unit to a suitable supplier, and advise on the effect of significant TUPE transfers.

The issues they had included fragmented systems for production-class printing, desktop, workgroup and transactional printing, post rooms, and central filing. This included the consolidation of several buildings into one centralised print production facility. The outcome delivered savings in excess of 20% which amounted to circa £1m per annum on a sustainable basis.

This followed a comprehensive audit, using Wyse Solutions LeanPrint auditing tool to map and tag all print and document storage assets. This enabled a proper assessment of what could be used in the new building and what further action was needed around filing.

Additionally, we rationalised and replaced the office printer fleet with best-of-breed multi-functional devices

The benefits included a significant reduction in printer to person ratio, and the data centre printing and reprographics were consolidated. The open print architecture for printing also protects against costs of any future hardware changes.
